What is CVLT

CVLT occurs on the first Monday at the Middlesex in Cambridge and the third Saturday at Machine in Boston.

CVLT is an experiment in art & social interaction. Our parties exhibit the finest in dark electronics.

CVLT, initially an internet radio show on WERS hosted by Logan Hudson (otherwise known as El Poser), emerged on the physical plane of Boston’s nighttime event scene in March of 2011. Drawing on his previous experience with Harum Scarum and SSLLOOWW parties, and in collaboration with Ctrl Alt Design and Dustrial, a local dark arts collective and production outfit (active during the Manray days as [:angeldustrial:]), their premiere event was an otherworldly, underground rave in Boston that demonstrated a definite working chemistry and cemented the shared vision of Logan and Dustrial’s co-founders Robert McElaney (Ctrl.Alt.Design) and Koren Bernardi (PVNKΞTT∆ DØILIΞ).

With this successful venture giving them the inspiration and initiative to move forward collectively as a club night open to the public, the first CVLT party occurred the following month at Middlesex Lounge in Cambridge, MA with a focus on aesthetics more than genre; CVLT is not a goth/industrial night, it is not a house/techno party. Instead, CVLT is a conceptually independent party focused on the darker, edgier aesthetics that too often lurk in the shadows of fine art, music, fashion, video and performance art. This diversity is evidenced by its many incarnations: The Ars Moriendi Project, Battle CVLT, and its newest Saturday series, CVLT:BLVCK. With a resident DJ line-up consisting of PVNKΞTT∆ DØILIΞ, Ionnokx, GL∆SS †33†H, and Shimoda, and regular appearances by friends DJ Die Young and Volvox, Visuals by Ctrl Alt Design and Photos by Adrienne Berlin, CVLT has truly come to define a uniquely intense sound and style and has attracted top talent known both locally and internationally, with guest spots by such known acts as Bryan Black / Black Asteroid, Deathface, Star Eyes, Ritualz, White Ring and Titsworth.
